What the heck is Meccha Chameleon and why everyone is playing it?

Meccha Chamelion is a newly developed indie game released on June 10th, 2026. It was solely coded by two indie developers Lemorion_1224 and Haganeiro withing a span of two months.

It is a co-op game made around the concept of hide and seek with a twist to it. First off there are two sides to choose from. Both the sides get simple avatar like a stickman but you know they are bulkier than an actual stickman. Like I mentioned earlier one side gets to hide under a set number of seconds and the others get to hunt them down with a shotgun. The game takes place in set maps and there is a total of 5 maps namely Mansion, Indoor Country, Sewer, Backrooms, Penguin Hotel.

Now what’s interesting about this game is that you as a player hiding get the option to choose from a set of poses and place yourself over an object and paint yourself with a paintbrush. You can choose the thickness level and also choose the colours from the colour palette. The eyedropper tool is also available if you want to choose the same colour as the object you’re trying to blend yourself onto. And with overall all the painting and hiding aspect it makes the game really fun to play with your friends. The fun part is where you get to whistle and taunt the players looking for you but unable to do so due to your artistic talents.

As such the game has taken a breeze to the co-op gaming community and it has sold over 10 million copies since its release.

It has taken the community and the gaming social medias by storm and Twitch streamers just can’t get enough of it. There are also players who have taken the game to new heights by painting themselves onto very complex structures like the Mona Lisa which is found in one of the maps. Funnily enough one of the players in the community has also chosen to not hide and use the pose wheel to keep changing poses and run while he dodges all the hunters trying to hunt him down.

Overall it is a great co-op indie game for having fun with yours friends while sitting in a discord call.
